What we value…

From start to finish, Villgrater Natur products are made by people from the region. This is not a coincidence, but is the “Villgraten way of life”: values such as a traditional lifestyle, good relations with neighbours, the family as a source of strength, and taking care of the landscape and nature, which is more important than revenue – for us, these are all not just empty catchphrases.

Feeling at home

This too is intrinsic in our work. It is because we pay attention to our own welfare that guests also enjoy coming to Villgraten Valley. They feel the peace and strength that comes from people appreciating and caring for what nature gives them. Products made from natural materials are a logical part of this concept. With this in mind, we invite guests to tour our facilities and attend our celebrations – whether we are enjoying a simple, typical Eastern Tirolean coffee beak or a fine dish of lamb.

The family as a source of strength

It is because family is important to us as a source of strength that we allow our staff to work flexible hours to suit their needs. For example Maria F. has worked for us since she was a young girl; after several years of maternity leave, she was happy to join the company again because she can make mattresses in the morning and be at home again for her daughter in the afternoon.

As the old saying goes: a happy worker is a productive worker … who makes good products!

Tradition goes hand in hand with progress

We do our best to keep old crafts alive, as you can see for example from the sheep-shearing and spinning at our annual sheep market. However, it is and always has been important to us to integrate new learning in the production of our products. This includes both cooperating with universities and experts, such as Professor Willi Dungl, and also listening to feedback from our customers, who continually inspire us to do even better.
